The American Wood Council (AWC) and Canadian Wood Council (CWC) have partnered with Building Materials Reuse Association (BMRA) to develop an online North American directory outlining reuse and recycling options for wood and wood products.

AWC applauds final BioPreferred Program regulations

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski has issued the following statement regarding the final issuance of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred Program regulations today. The 2014 Farm Bill states that forest products, previously considered to be ineligible because they were "mature market," are now eligible products to be recognized in USDA biobased programs.

WASHINGTON - American Wood Council (AWC) President and CEO Robert Glowinski has issued the following statement regarding the recognition of wood products under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred Program going into effect today. The 2014 Farm Bill states that forest products, previously considered to be ineligible because they were “mature market,” are now eligible products to be recognized in USDA biobased programs.

AWC Statement on USDA's biobased final rule

WASHINGTON – American Wood Council President and CEO Robert Glowinski has issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Friday release of a final rule on the BioPreferred program that, among other changes, deletes the mature market language from the regulation. The 2014 Farm Bill includes language on the Biobased Program that explicitly states forest products are eligible biobased products and recognizes ways in which innovation can be demonstrated in those products.
